BC "Khimik" - SC "Kryvbass" 98:56

Khimik (19-2) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed twelfth ranked SC Kryvbass (5-18) in Yuzhny 98-56.

The game without a history. Khimik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to SC Kryvbass' 28. Khimik forced 23 SC Kryvbass turnovers and outrebounded them 114-37 including a 40-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 50 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by SC Kryvbas' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Khimik made 8 blocks.

Latvian Rolands Freimanis stepped up and scored 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and American guard Jamal Shuler chipped in 12 points. Four Khimik players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Vitali Malchevskiy responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and center Valeriy Anisimov scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Khimik have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-2 record. SC Kryvbas lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 18 games lost. Khimik are looking forward to face Ferro-ZNTU (#4) in Zaporozhye in the next round. SC Kryvbass will play on the road against Budivelnyk (#5)in Kyiv and are hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
